Philanthropy Classification System

GeoTree

Developed by Candid, GeoTree is a geographic classification tool that enables organizations to apply Geographic Area Served coding to data about their work. Although initially designed to standardize our own geographic coding system, GeoTree also serves as a taxonomic standard and reference tool for the field. Organizations are encouraged to use the branch or branches of the tree that apply to their work, and may do so to the level of geographic detail that is appropriate for them.
